The Heart Doc for Kids
Lisa Klein has dedicated her career to helping children with heart conditions. She received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY, in 1986, and soon after completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center.
She began her professional career in 1990 in the New York Hospital Pediatric Acute Care Unit, before moving to Louisville to join Pediatric Cardiology Associates and Kosair Children’s Hospital, where she spent over 16 years, many of which were on the faculty at UofL. Her other professional experiences include a position as Pediatric Cardiologist and Medical Director of The Hickory Satellite of Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute in NC, and as Attending Pediatric Cardiologist at Kentucky Children’s Hospital and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UK in Lexington.
Klein is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Subboard of Pediatric Cardiology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Her many accolades include being named a Louisville “Top Doc” by Louisville Magazine in 2007 and 2008, and receiving the “Key to the City” of Louisville from Mayor Jerry Abramson in 1998.
